Vector Fire Technology, Inc. was established in 1999. With over 60 years of combined experience, Vector's principals bring extensive knowledge to the flammable liquid fire fighting industry. The company is well equipped to provide quality field service to contractors, foam manufacturers, engineering/ construction firms, and end users throughout the world.
Our company prides itself by offering prompt, quality service to it's customers. Vector Fire Technology, Inc. was founded by two experienced individuals who share a vision of providing high quality, technically advanced service to foam fire protection.
Fay Purvis has been an integral part of the flammable liquid fire protection industry since 1972. He spent twenty seven years with National Foam, Inc. and it's divisions, having held management positions in Engineering, R&D and Sales. He was named on the patent, and was instrumental in the development of National Foam's Servo Command mobile equipment proportioning system. Servo Command is still considered by many to be the most technically advanced vehicle proportioning system available and a benchmark by which foam fire fighting apparatus is measured. Fay has served on National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Technical Committee of Foam NFPA 11 since 1987. In Spring 2005, Fay was appointed to the Chairman position of the NFPA Foam Committee.
Steve Kiernan has worked in the flammable liquid fire protection industry since 1974. He was employed by National Foam, Inc. for twenty five years having served in management capacities in Quality Control, Engineering, and Business Manager for the company's Feecon product division. While at National Foam, Steve managed the company's agency approval test programs related to Underwriters Laboratories, Inc., Factory Mutual and U. S. Coast Guard. Over his 25 year career Steve gained an excellent knowledge of foams, fixed foam systems, industrial foam apparatus and ARFF vehicle foam systems. Steve is a past member of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) committee for Aircraft Fire Fighting Vehicles - Standard 414.
More recently, both Fay and Steve have been involved in the development of Planit Safe - A Clean Approach to Fire System Service. Planit Safe foam proportioning system testing procedures enable Vector Fire Technology, Inc. to provide fast, accurate, cost effective evaluation of your system using environmentally friendly substitute test liquids. This includes new methods for foam system testing employing fast on line instrumentation and electronic computer based data acquisition equipment and software. Planit Safe has been widely accepted by the US Navy and foam fire suppression industry as an accurate and environmentally responsible method for testing foam systems.
In January 2008, Don Helsel joined Vector Fire to service the Southeastern portion of the US from an office in Atlanta GA. Don brings a vast amount of knowledge to the company, having served as a Sales Engineer for National Foam (now Kidde Fire Fighting) for many years. His knowledge of foam system products is well known to those who he has worked with over his many years in the area. Don offers full service and foam system commissioning ability and expands the ability of Vector Fire to better serve our customers in the Southeast.
